The FTC Choir is an advanced large ensemble dedicated to performing more difficult and challenging, traditional and contemporary, choral literature with select soloists and orchestras.
Great American Songbook
Five Towns College students learn and perform songs from the Great American Songbook, the popular music songwriting period, between the 1930s and 1950s, when the craft of songwriting reached a remarkable peak of perfection with songs coming from Broadway, Hollywood and the heartland of America, and typically featured strong melodies, intricate harmonies, and carefully crafted lyrics. Ballroom dancing precedes the show, setting the mood for a lively and entertaining evening.
Cabaret Favorites
This show presents some of the most beloved songs performed by the talented students of the Cabaret Workshop, under the direction of Arnie Gruber with his band. These great songs and timeless tunes are the “required” repertoire of audiences for all night club performers. They are the favorites, loved by many through-out the years. Ballroom dancing precedes the show, setting the mood for a lively and entertaining evening of cabaret favorites.
FTC Vocal Jazz Ensemble
Drawing on the vocal group tradition of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Manhattan Transfer and the Single Singers, the FTC Jazz Ensemble is inspired by 50 years of contemporary musical artists, adding breathtaking new arrangements, exciting energetic beats and haunting harmonies that thrill audiences.

FTC Women’s A Cappella Chorus
This performance features glorious A Cappella ensembles, whose repertoire varies from Barbershop to Contemporary Popular Music. Featured in this concert are the Five Towns College Men’s and Women’s A Cappella Chorus, Barbershop quartets, the Long Island Sound, and regional groups. The Men and Women’s Chorus sing popular music exploring the diversity of cultures and musical genres.
