The David Brenner Comedy Show ~ “What’s So Funny” ~ with The Great Young Comedians

David is producing a very special show at DHPAC merging some of the best young talent with his own experience. David’s remarkable career began with his debut National TV appearance on The Tonight Show, where he went on to make the most appearances of any guest on the show – 158!. He continued to be the most frequent talk show guest of any entertainer, as confirmed in “The Book of List 2.” Today, Brenner’s act is primarily based on “very” current events and news, and he is recognized as a political pundit, appearing on TV News Shows. To date, David has done four HBO Specials. Before becoming a standup comedian, David enjoyed a successful career as writer/producer/director of 115 television documentaries and headed distinguished documentary departments of both Westinghouse Broadcasting and Metromedia Broadcasting. He received nearly thirty awards and citations including an Emmy Award. David now brings his highly entertaining style to DHPAC and will introduce and host three up-and-coming, promising young comedians that he personally hand-picked. After a short but in-depth, funny and serious getting-to-know-you pre-interview, each comedian will step on stage and perform the best of their best with a combination of traditional stand-up comedy monologue, followed by one-onone and group interviews that engage each comedian in dialogue, discussion and a lot of laughter! If you are curious to learn what makes funny people tick, and you like to laugh, this will be a most enlightening and entertaining evening for you enjoying the best of the old and new in laughter. And don’t be surprised, if you see this show as a series on a national cable TV show very soon!

Testimonials

I am a big fan of Rock ‘n’ Roll and just love many of the DHPAC shows. Where else on Long Island can you get such an array of great talent and spend a comfortable night in a great performing arts center listening to the songs you love!
