An entertainment center in the heart of Long Island

An entertainment center in the heart of Long Island, DHPAC / Dix Hills Performing Arts Center presents popular music jazz, rock, John Lennon and Beatles shows, Broadway musical theatre, drama, family and children’s theatre, and new theatrical comedy as well as magic and stand-up comedy. Our performances include the region’s most talented college performers, professional musicians, and national and international stars.

DHPAC celebrations of the music of John Lennon and the Beatles are in collaboration with the John Lennon Center for Music & Technology.

DHPAC provides free, accessible and ample parking just off the Long Island Expressway between exits 50 and 51. The air-conditioned theater seats approximately five hundred, with all seats providing an excellent view of the stage. For most shows, special pricing is available for seniors, students and children.

  • A ticket must be purchased for each child.

What is DHPAC?

The Performing Arts Foundation of Dix Hills, Inc. d/b/a the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit entity located at Five Towns College. The Foundation’s mission is to support charitable, educational, literary, civic and cultural events for the benefit of the community.

Which organizations does DHPAC work with?

DHPAC is located on the campus of Five Towns College, a private college in the public service.

DHPAC often presents programs in conjunction with: The John Lennon Center for Music & Technology, Middle Class American Productions [MCAP], Five Towns College faculty and student projects, and the Entertainment Industry Gallery of Honor at Five Towns College.

Which communities does DHPAC serve?


DHPAC is located in Dix Hills, Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. DHPAC is convenient to Nassau County, as well, with many visitors from Syosset, Plainview, Bethpage, Farmingdale, and Massapequa. We are worth the trip from New York City (where many of our performers, faculty, and students commute from), and we are near the following Long Island Railroad Stations: “Babylon”, “Wyandanch”, and “Huntington Station”. Many of our audience members come from the towns of Huntington, Babylon, Smithtown, Islip and Oyster Bay.

Which kinds of events does DHPAC present?

Our focus is on Long Island music, comedy, and theatre events. We also present magic shows and other special presentations. Because of our association with The John Lennon Center for Music and Technology, we hold an annual, multi-media, birthday celebration to remember John Lennon, as well as frequent Beatles events with various musicians and Beatles scholars.

We are pleased to present many family events, including children’s theatre and presentations that include music history. We are an excellent source for things to do on Long Island.

Live Music - Jazz, Cabaret and The Great American Songbook, Rock, Tribute bands, 60’s music (including a Woodstock tribute), 70’s music, 80’s music, 90’s music, Barbershop, ACappella, Alternative Music, Big Band, Swing Music, Jazz Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Concert Pops, Guitar, Guitar Ensembles, Latin Jazz, Piano, Choir, Gospel Choir, The Fall Guitar Festival and the Guitar Extravaganza.

Live Theatre – Our presentations include: Broadway Musicals; Drama; Comedy; Radio Theatre; experimental theatre; student productions (including senior projects in the Spring); and world premiere presentations, such as John Blenn’s 2009 production of “Golden Parachutes,” Eddie Money's 2009 production of "Two Tickets to Paradise" and Stewart Lane’s 2010 production of “A Moment in Time”.

Live Comedy – Comedy Skits, Stand-up Comedy, New Comedy Writers Series, and many variations of comic theatre. John Blenn, The Five Towns College Playwright-In-Residence is associated with Middle Class American Productions [MCAP], Long Island’s only all-original theatre group.

What’s so special about DHPAC?

DHPAC is a Long Island venue that supports the Long Island music and theatre scene. In addition, our events feature New York City personnel and New York City talent. By coming to DHPAC/ Dix Hills Performing Arts Center -- instead of a show on Broadway or at Carnegie Hall -- you can enjoy proximity, free parking, lower prices, and the fact that you are supporting local artists. DHPAC is part of a wider learning community and arts community, including Five Towns College students, graduate students, and faculty.
