with a series of concerts and performances for all

Something on the calendar here for all tastes including rock, jazz, the great standards and theater


January 26, 2012, Dix Hills, NY – The Dix Hills Performing Arts Center proudly presents the February 2012 line-up of concerts and theater performances designed to warm and entertain audiences with a wide variety of acts.

Giada“DHPAC has something for everyone with great parking, prices and performances, “ said Sandy Hinden, executive director of the Center, who was recently awarded an Outstanding Advocate for the Arts Award by the Long Island Arts Council. “We welcome back our audience members, and are so pleased to have new ones. We always show appreciation when they bring their friends. This season we have more extraordinary performers I know will thrill please our audience members.”

* The Music of Yes as performed by the band “Tribute,” Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. “Tribute” will perform Yes’ legendary album “Close to the Edge” uninterrupted to honor its 40th anniversary. One of the longest lasting, most successful 1970s progressive rock groups, Yes is one of the lingering success stories from this musical genre. Tickets are $35 and $30. .

· An Evening with vocalist Giada Valenti, Saturday Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. With her CD release of “And I Love You So,” Giada brings her sophisticated music and European style to music fans worldwide, and once again brings her show to Dix Hills. Tickets are $45, $35 and $30. Giada’s show sold out at DHPAC last year.

· Songs from the Heart, the Love Ballads of Chicago with the band Beginnings, Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Join Beginnings for a very special performance of Chicago’s ballads and love songs. Chicago had 20 Top Ten singles, 12 Top Ten albums (five of which were #1), and sales of more than 120 million records, and they keep going strong! Tickets are $35 and $30. Get your tickets early. This show often sells out.

· Dr. K’s Motown Review takes the stage Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. This seasoned array of talented musicians delivers a spectacular performance. Audience members will be transported back to the Motown era with the band’s seven musicians and four lead vocalists, all telling an exciting story, bringing back memories for generations of fans. Tickets are $35 and $30.

· Beatles Love Celebration with Gathering Time, Sunday Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. Valentine’s Day comes early to the Center when Gathering Time brings their acoustic harmonies back to town in celebration of “The Fab Four”. Tickets are $20.

* February ends at the center on a high note, when the Theatrical Comedy Lend Me a Tenor, is produced Feb. 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Winner of three Tony awards and four Drama Desk awards, Lend Me A Tenor is a hilarious comedy about the opera set in 1934.Tickets are $15 and $12 for seniors and students.
